Rising 1st graders Amia, Julia and Jack were very excited when they found this baby box turtle in the garden. We are guessing that it is only a month or two old, and given that it is so small, it was most likely born in the garden. That suggests there must be other turtles in the garden too! It seems we are providing exactly the protective habitat these little creatures need!Designed by one of our members, the garden has been established and maintained by our children, staff, and parents. The Butterfly Garden was created with the support of the National Wildlife Federation’s Schoolyard Habitats® Program and provides enriching and interactive educational opportunities that foster enthusiasm in the school's students and educators alike.
